San Diego Zoo, San Diego

This world-renowned zoo, located in San Diego’s Balboa Park, allows kids to discover animals from all over the world. For a fun and educational visit, the San Diego Zoo allows visitors to learn about rare and endangered species, all of which are in naturalized enclosures spread across 100 acres in Balboa Park. There are more than 3,700 animals, including crowd-pleasers such as giant pandas, and fuzzy koala bears! Jungle Bells takes place from December 8 – January 1, and the zoo will be transferred into a wild wonderland with twinkling lights, merry performances and festive foods!

LEGOLAND California, San Diego

This magical world is created by 60 million LEGO plastic bricks and whether you’re a kid, or a kid at heart, you will be amazed by LEGOLAND. Take your kids through Miniland USA for a visually stunning experience where you’ll see miniaturized recreations of Washington D.C., New York, and San Francisco, as well as scenes from many Star Wars movies. There are over 60 rides, shows and attractions, including three roller coasters, and live shows by the LEGO friends. From November 17 – December 31, you’ll find tons of holiday spirit – there’s a 30-foot LEGO Christmas tree, a brand-new Holiday Village and special holiday treats including peppermint shakes, and Nutella and peppermint crepes.

Disneyland, Anaheim

Disneyland is the land of enchantment and whether you’re young, or young at heart, you will find that dreams do come true in this magical kingdom. From incredible rides, seeing your favourite characters, and delicious Disney-themed cuisine, there’s so much to do here! From November – January 6, the holiday spirit is in full swing, and Disneyland will transform into a winter wonderland. From festive entertainment, spectacular firework displays, and decorations, you won’t want to miss out on this enchanting experience.

Knott’s Berry Farm, Buena Park

Knott’s Berry Farm is another great theme park in Southern California. What started as a small berry farm soon grew into a fun theme park full of rides, famous fried chicken dinners, boysenberries and even a ghost town! You’ll find fun here for all ages as there are dozens of rides, roller coasters, stage shows, interactive experiences, and all kinds of fun with Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang. During the holidays, Knott’s Berry Farm transforms into Knott’s Merry Farm – complete with a Christmas craft village, festive food, lavish holiday decorations and nightly snow in Ghost Town.

Six Flags Magic Mountain, Los Angeles County

For an adrenaline-pumping experience, visit Six Flags Magic Mountain, where you’ll find beast-like rollercoasters with names like Goliath, twisted Colossus, and Apocalypse. For the little ones who may not be ready for these rides, head on over to Bugs Bunny World for fun rides and interactions with Looney Tunes characters. From November 17 – December 30, you can experience Holiday in the Park where the park transforms into a wonderland featuring twinkling lights, carollers and holiday entertainment!

Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles County

For movie magic and mega attractions, Universal Studios Hollywood is the place to go! You’ll find movie and TV-themed worlds, featuring incredible rides and studio tours. From the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where there’s a recreation of the village of Hogsmead, to a recreation of Simpsons Springfield, there’s so much to explore! Celebrate Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where Hogsmead is transformed with festive décor and new nightly snowfall (November 17 – January 6). There’s also Who-tacular festivities with the Grinch, Max and all of Who-ville on December 1, 2, 8, 9 and 14 - 30.
